General Session Board Meeting Minutes

April 5, 2005

Location: Boise Basin Library, Idaho City, Id

 

Board Members Present: Brent Adamson, Bruce Reichert, Elizabeth Martin,

                                         Loyal Willis, Theresa Mann

 

1)       Minutes/Financial: The Board reviewed and unanimously approved the minutes of the March 1, 2005 meeting. Marcy Rowe reported a checking account balance of $5,437.49 and money market/reserve account balance of $61,499.77.

2)      Managers report:

  • Jim reported that, as previously planned, the road contractor, Gardner Const., is removing the approved/marked trees along the road to allow improved snow removal.
  • Speed bumps have been re-installed on Meadow Rd. and Bull Pine Rd.
  • Jim has scheduled Overhead Door to make necessary adjustments to the electronic board for the gate mechanism on the outgoing gate. Tom Glass will make repairs and adjustments to the incoming gate.
  • Jim will obtain estimates from Overhead Door and other providers for gate replacement costs.
  • Jim obtained an estimate for a replacement phone and phone box at the gate for $380.00. He will obtain estimates from other suppliers also.
  • Jim identified two sections of road that require widening to allow better traffic flow. One section is on Meadow Rd. and one on Bull Pine Rd. Jim will have Gardners provide cost estimates for each section for Board approval.

3)      BLM letter: Bruce read a letter DPHOA received from BLM responding to our correspondence with BLM. The letter recited actions that have been taken by BLM as well as planned actions for fuel reduction on land adjacent to Duquette Pines. They confirmed a meeting had been scheduled to meet with concerned Idaho City area residents on April 13, 2005 in Idaho City. Bruce, Loyal, Elizabeth and Jim will plan to attend the meeting to represent the Board.

4)      New Business:

  • A concern was voiced about a timber slash pile that had not been removed from a Duquette lot. Bruce will contact the lot owner to discuss the issue.
  • Burning without a permit from the Forest Service is prohibited as of May 10, 2005. As a reminder to property owners, we will post a notice on the community bulletin boards.

5)      House plans:

  • The Board reviewed and approved the modifications proposed by Roger and Julie Randolph to their previously approved building plans.
  • The Board reviewed and approved the ramp added to the Osborne home. A carport proposed by the Osbornes was reviewed. The Board requested additional information from the Osbornes for further review prior to making a final determination.

6)      WLC: Brent advised that Brad Stone of WLC contacted him to schedule a meeting with the Board for discussion of a possible merger between DPHOA (DP #’s 1, 2 and 3) and Duquette Pines Sub #4. The Board would like to meet with Brad on May 7 – Brent will contact Brad to schedule.

7)      Annual Meeting: The Annual meeting has been scheduled for May 7, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Boise Basin Senior Center.

8)      Elizabeth Martin notified the Board that, due to personal business and commitments, she had to resign her position on the Board for Duquette effective April 5, 2005.
