Duquette Pines Homeowners Association

General Session Board Meeting

August 7, 2007

Location: Basin Library, Idaho City, Id

Board Members Present: Brent Adamson, Bruce Reichert,

                                        Roy Doan, Kim Heintzman

Present: Jim White, Manager; Treasea Long, Bookkeeper; Theresa Mann, Elizabeth Nelson, Terry Teeter

1)      Terry Teeter spoke to us about the recent fire in Duquette Pines, that was started when a tree fell on a power line. The fire started on the border between State land and private land. Terry was impressed with the swift response from everyone, including the Forest Service and the local folks. We also thanked him and his Idaho City Volunteer Fire Dept. for coming to our rescue. We also discussed the fire truck that Fire Chief Terry wants to store with us. We told him we’re working to get a fire house built, perhaps even this year, and are looking at various options, including a metal 30x40 building. Jim White will talk with his neighbor, Darren Ellsworth, to see if the fire truck can be stored in his large shed this winter.

2)      Brent welcomed the new members to the Board -- Roy Doan and Kim Heintzman -- and thanked the outgoing members -- Theresa Mann and Elizabeth Nelson -- for all their work. Roy is a Board member for one year, since he is replacing Elizabeth. Kim’s tenure is three years. Brent’s term is also three years.

3)      Brent Adamson will continue as Board President. Jon Long, Sr., was elected Vice President. Bruce Reichert will assume Secretary duties.

4)      Manager Jim White gave us his Manager’s Update.

* The gate has been broken repeatedly.

* He has bought a fence for near the gate.

* He is visiting residents for the fire mitigation grant. Work will resume in September on brush clearing. Deer Drive is first up for work; then Divisions One, Two, and Three. They also hope to get to Division Four with the grant money.

* Our wells are holding their own, just barely. Folks are being asked to conserve water to help the cause.

* We have spent approximately $14,000 on dust abatement this summer, and the dust is coming back. No one thought our “experiment” was a satisfactory way to proceed for the future. Steve Webb has asked to visit us next year to discuss the various options available to us, since he works with these chemicals in his job.

* We still need signs, one for contractors that give them a list of Do’s and Don’ts; another for realtors. The signs will be placed by the gate entrance.

5)  Minutes and financial:

The minutes of the July 2007 meeting were unanimously approved. Treasea Long provided the Board with a financial report indicating a checking account balance of $2,171.69 and a savings account balance of $122,553.85.  :

6)      New business:

* Elizabeth Nelson reported a great deal of turbidity in the water last Sunday evening. The general consensus of the Board was that it had to be due to the fire trucks pulling so much water from the system that evening and agitating the bottom of the tanks. We are interested in knowing whether anyone else experienced this problem.

      * Theresa Mann reported that she and Elizabeth are volunteering to work on various committees, starting with an update  of the CCR’s. The Board thanked them for their continued efforts.

7)      Meeting adjourned.
