Minutes/Financial: The Board approved the minutes of the February 6, 2007 meeting. Bank account balances were reported at: $1460.52 in checking and $111,563.34 in reserve/savings.

1)      Building Plans: no new plans presented.

2)      Manager’s report:

  • Jim advised that the incoming gate was rendered inoperable when the control board and wiring to it burned. A discussion ensued about purchasing the necessary parts to get the gate operable as soon as possible. Jon Long, Sr., has been looking into the cost, which he estimates will be less than $3,000. Parts will be ordered.
  • Jim said there are many dead trees in the subdivision that need to be removed before the bugs in them infect live trees. He will be contacting residents about the trees.

4)      Terry Teeter, the chief of the Idaho City Volunteer Fire Dept., joined us to talk about the need to work together on fire issues. Terry wants residents of Duquette Pines to join the Idaho City Volunteer Fire Dept. Terry also said he had a fire truck that could be placed in the subdivision. A discussion ensued about erecting a building in which to put the truck. Everyone agreed it was a priority for us. Eventually, a formal agreement will need to be worked out between the city of Idaho City and Duquette Pines. The matter will be discussed further at our annual meeting in May.

5)      The Board received Estimates from Gardner Construction Co. to repair four sections of our subdivision roads. Board members agreed to meet Saturday, March 10, to take a first-hand look at the areas, in order to prioritize the repairs, since the cost to repair  all of the problem sections could approach $30,000.

6)      A discussion about this year’s Annual Meeting ensued. It was agreed that Saturday, May 19, was a great day for the Meeting to occur. In preparation for that meeting, the Board will meet Monday, March 26, to discuss the budget.

7)      The Board agreed to the wording of the signs advising people about the rules of our Meadow relating to ATVs, snowmobiles. Four signs will be purchased and placed at appropriate places.

8)      There was also a discussion about putting a 3-pole fence around our Meadow. The matter will be discussed at a future meeting, after cost estimates can be determined.

9)      Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
