              Present: Jim White, Manager

1)                           There was some good news regarding our wells this past month. Jim White and Jon Long, with assistance from an electrician, discovered that an upgrading of wiring and the replacement of a control box improved the functioning of our wells. In well #1, the control box was changed; in well #2, a relatively simple adjustment was made; in well #3, the problem was a wiring connection, not the pump as was suspected. In well #5, there was a short in the wire from the control box to the well; the wiring was replaced. Well #4 is currently “abandoned,” because of a pesky rock in the way. We have asked a driller to come give us his best advice, since we think the well is not a lost cause. Thanks to Jim and Jon for all their hard work putting in the wire, and to Tag Wolfe for digging the trench! Preventive maintenance will be performed on the wells in June, and, hopefully, every June from here on out.

2)                           The Board has decided, after a spirited discussion of the various options, and a registered letter to the scofflaws sent in September, that six property owners in our subdivision will be turned over to a collection agency. They all owe more than $1,000 for road and water assessments, stretching back more than a year. The thinking was that enough is enough, and it’s not fair to the rest of the homeowners in the subdivision.

3)                           A discussion ensued of the past summer’s dust abatement experiment. According to manager Jim White, one advantage of our efforts was that the road seemed to hold together better, and there were fewer potholes. But Roy Doan felt that the dust was still too thick to call it a success. We’re all committed to doing a better job next year of controlling dust.

4)                           Kim Heintzman will now be in charge of seeing that building plans submitted to the Board are dealt with in a timely manner, with a follow-up letter sent to the property owner.

5)                           A newsletter will be mailed out at the end of the month, laying out the options before us for the building of our fire house. We have been promised a fire truck by the Idaho City Volunteer Fire Department, once we have a place to put it.

6)                           Letters are going out to various individuals, asking them to improve the look of their property and letting them know that they are overdue on finishing the outside of their houses.

7)                           Meeting Adjourned.
