Duquette Pines Homeowners Association

General Session Board Meeting

November 4, 2008

Location: Boise Basin Library

Members present:  all board members - Brent Adamson, Jon Long, Roy Doan, Kim Heintzman, Jared Harrington - and Bookkeeper Michelle Savoie and Manager Jim White.

It was moved and seconded that Brent Adamson purchase 6 more brass adapters for the individual fire stands. These adapters are available to all home owners on the water system at no charge.

Jim White gave a short managers update. Gardners will be doing the fall road maintenance this week. Boulders were put around the new fire stand at Meadow and Meadow and at the front gate. The slash pile at the RV parking area has been burned.

A couple of future projects were presented to the board. The generator shed is in need of minor repairs. In the spring we will have it looked at and decide what needs to be done to prevent its further deterioration. It was suggested that we consider mowing a border around the common area as a fire break next spring and summer. The HOA would probably purchase a pull behind mower to keep the cost of doing this reasonable. It was suggested that in years we do not have excess snow removal expenses that we start rebuilding our roads. We could add 4 inches of road mix to the existing road bed and do this in one-half mile segments. A proposed building permit application form was presented to the board. This form will be modified by next meeting and will probably be adopted.

Roy Doan has been meeting with many home owners and gave a short report on his visits. Two items were discussed on these visits. The first was the front gate. Most residents wanted a more secure front gate if we are going to continue maintaining a gate. While the breaking of the gate is an annoyance, most opposed purchasing a camera to catch the offenders. The second item was the acquisition of a pumper truck. While everyone was in favor of acquiring a truck if one is donated, most opposed building a structure to house it.
